Ways To Bring Traffic To Your Website

Posted by Webmaster Blog 3 July, 2009

Traffic is the backbone of Internet, and this is the most important aspect for the success of any internet business. With so much tools available, designing a website is not a difficult task and everyday thousands of new websites are coming

When I designed my first website, I took six month to develop it. After developing it I did not know how to bring traffic to it. My monthly consumption of bandwidth was less than 100MB. Today my all sites consume around 1GB bandwidth per day.

If you designed website for your family and friends and contain some thing which is of interest of your near and dear ones only then probably you do not need to know any marketing tactics, you can just tell them that this is my website and visit it.

But if you developed website for general public and want to earn money through your website either by selling your product/service or through affiliate marketing or by displaying ad on your website then you need visitors to your site.

There are many methods to bring traffic to your website I am writing a few methods which can be used to bring traffic to your website.

  • PPC
  • Search engine optimization
  • Press Releases
  • Articles submission
  • Viral marketing
  • Offline marketing
  • Ezine Solo ads
  • Sig files in Forums
  • Link exchange
  • Email marketing (list building)
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Cross linking with your other websites

Whole book can be written on each method on how to use effectively these methods to bring traffic, I will write in details later about each of them separately.
