Mozilla is removing the anti-phishing feature starting version 2.0.0.19 of Firefox. The reason being given is that Google, which provides the phishing data via the SafeBrowsing protocol, has asked Mozilla to disable the feature in Firefox 2.0 since it relies on an obsolete version of the protocol.

The best approach is to upgrade to Firefox 3.0 but if you still insist on using Firefox 2.0, consider getting third-party tools like the Netcraft toolbar, Firephish that add phishing protection to your Firefox 2.

It is one of the most interesting feature in Mozilla Firefox 3.5. Private browsing mode puts Firefox into a temporary state where no information about the user’s browsing session is stored locally. If you have no plans to wait and start using right now, then this article will be helpful to you.

Get the Firefox addon called “Private Browsing” which hides surfing trails that the browser leaves behind. Once installed, you can start the private browsing mode by going to “Tools -> Private Browsing” or by clicking on its icon in Statusbar.
